This book is yet another book on taking a pro-active stance against diabetes. She gives lots of information. Some things she says are not how my husband’s body reacts to various things. Like the author says, each person is different. She’s right, IMHO, about doctors. We have a great doctor, but even at that, we try other things.
She has a website as well. If you want to check out her take on things before buying the book, you might check there.
There are so many books on handling diabetes. Look around. You might check bookstores to see how various books on diabetes seem to you.

Best book I have read about the effects of high blood sugar and how to lower it. I am a type 1 and have found this book very helpful even though it was written primarily for type 2 diabetics. Stongly recomend for anyone with Diabeties.

I don’t think I’m diabetic or anything. I just noticed I’m a bit sensitive to carbs and felt better on nut flour baked goods and lower carb foods. So I just wanted to understand blood sugar a little better. This book is full of so much fascinating information, I’m so glad I purchased it. I think everyone should read it. I didn’t know that the blood sugar fasting test the doctor gives you at your yearly exam usually catches diabetes much later, and usually dosen’t catch when you body is beginning to have issues. Also, much of the diabetes research done on whole grains vs processed foods shows whole grains are better, duh. But these same studies do not study the effects of low carb on blood sugar, and since there’s no study, your doctor isn’t going to recommend it. You will probably hear there’s nothing you can do, and just eat piles of whole grains which will kill you a little slower than the processed grains. Yet so many folks have been able to lower blood sugar by lowering carbs. There is so much in this book!
