The 3-Hour Diet Cookbook

When it comes to the world of dieting you will find that there are many diet, weight loss, and fitness plans on the market. It takes years for some to become a contender and others remain a best-kept secret of sorts. One such ‘best kept’ secret would be the 3 Hour Diet that was designed by Jorge Cruise. I am sure that there are many reading along and chuckling under your breath that there is no way one can lose weight by eating every three hours however the science behind the theory is fairly common and Jorge Cruise is a mainstay in the fitness industry.

The long and short of this diet operates with the knowledge that if you do not feed your body accurately and regularly your body will go into what is called ‘starvation mode’. In this mode your body holds onto the fat rather than burning it up and consuming it for use. This means that your body is burning muscle rather than fat to take the energy it needs in order to function.

With the 3 Hour Diet you will not feel hungry all the time, in fact, there are many who claim they are constantly setting alarms and reminding themselves to eat. You will also learn the proper foods to eat in order to achieve the best possible results. The key is in learning which foods are right for you when dieting with this plan. You can purchase the book The 3-Hour Diet by Jorge Cruise and you can sign up online for more information about the weight plan itself and how to incorporate it into your busy routine.

I do recommend purchasing the book if you are seriously considering this as your method of dieting as there are many wonderful hints, tips, and tricks that are mentioned in the book to help you keep things going no matter how busy and hectic your lifestyle may be. One thing you need to keep in mind is that dieting with a program such as this is no small commitment. You need to stick to the timetable as much as possible in order to achieve the results this plan is famous for. If you aren’t willing to eat every three hours then this plan really may not be the plan for you.

Otherwise, if this is something you would be interested in, I highly recommend it. There are special considerations based on the amount you weight currently and the amount of weight you are hoping to lose. It is best if you are honest throughout the process in order to achieve the best possible and most immediate results. The claim is that you can lose as many as 10 pounds in the first two weeks and there are those that have claimed to do just that over and over again. This is a diet that even many celebrities endorse for quick and immediate results.

The good and the bad about 3 hour dieting is that it is effective but takes a very real commitment on the part of the one that is dieting. This diet is one that is taking the world by storm. If you haven’t heard of it before now, please take the time to check it out and see if this is something you could incorporate into your life. The results that have been reported as a result of this diet as nothing short of phenomenal. If there were one diet I would recommend above others for those who hate feeling hungry, it would be this diet.

How do they do it? We mere mortals seem to struggle with every bite while celebs maintain their perfect shapes. To find out, we enlisted the help of John Stewart, the owner of Sunfare, a food delivery service that works with many of Hollywood’s A-listers. John shared five celebrity diet secrets with us.

1. Speed up your metabolism by eating five small meals: breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner bedtime snack. Yes – a bedtime snack! It keeps your metabolism working while you sleep. And remember – this isn’t a license to pig out! Read on for how to eat!

2. Each meal should have a balanced ratio of 30% protein, 40% carbs and 30% fats. Yes, fats! But good fats – nuts, avocado, olive oil and so on. Fats play an important role in keeping you feeling full and satisfied as well as regulating how much sugar is released into the blood stream.

3.  Spice up lean protein. Diet foods don’t have to be bland and boring. Add flavor so you’ll enjoy what you’re eating. Lemon on your salmon. Herbs, spice, salsas. The possibilities are endless! And you just might like it so much you’ll stop thinking of it as “diet food.”

4.  Drink lots of water – 80 ounces a day. That’s ten 8 ounce glasses. Besides keeping you hydrated, water can curb your hunger pangs. Drinking it before a meal can take the edge off your hunger. And drinking it with your meal can help fill you up.

5.  Plan ahead. Don’t wait until you’re hungry to decide what to eat. That only leads to bad choices! When you’re making dinner, cook a little extra for another meal or snack. You’ll be amazed at how well you eat when you’re not grabbing for everything in the fridge!

How Age Affects your Metabolism & How to Increase you Metabolism

weight:normal;text-decoration:none;text-transform:none;color:000000;background-color:ffffff;”>As we grow older the weight seems to be harder to take off. Many people tend to blame
their metabolism as the culprit for their increasing weight gain. So does metabolism
really slow with age?

What is metabolism?
Most of us think of metabolism as the rate at which we burn calories. “Metabolism is the
breakdown of metabolic fuels we have in the diet,” explains Christopher Newgard, director
of the Sarah W. Stedman Nutrition and Metabolism Center at Duke University Medical School.
“The primary nutrients in food can be classified as fats, proteins or carbohydrates. I
think of metabolism as the way the cells, organs and tissues in our bodies handle those
kinds of fuels.” In other words, it’s not just about burning up the food we eat, but about
how the various nutrients from that food help us maintain a healthy body.

So does the metabolism slow down or do we slow down?
Both. As we age, our metabolism does slow down. The primary thing that seems to occur is
that mitochondria in the cells slow down with age. Also as we age, we are subject to
sarcopenia which is muscle wasting. Since muscle burns more energy than fat, this means
the metabolic load goes down and metabolism reflects that. Therefore, if you do nothing
about your loss of muscle with age, it will take you longer to burn off a donut at age 60
than at 20. In addition, most of us become less active as we get older, which results in
increased weight gain.

What can you do?

Exercise
Exercise is No. 1. It actually increases the number of mitochondria, increases your
metabolic activity and burns calories.

Eat balanced meals
Each of the primary foods in a balanced diet has important individual contributions to
make to the whole metabolic scheme function properly. Fatty acids are important in the
synthesis of cell membranes. Carbs are a quick energy source and used for a whole plethora
of biochemical reactions, including building DNA. Amino acids build protein—the structural
basis of our cells. Again, all of this is part of metabolism—converting and using nutrients
to maintain healthy cells, organs and tissues. Diets that eliminate an entire food group
will take a toll on the body in the long run.

Drink water
Every process in the body takes place in water and drinking water helps with digestion and
metabolism efficiency. In addition, when you are dehydrated, you feel lethargic and you
move less. In the end, age will slow us down. But by staying active and eating well, you
can slow the effects of a slowing metabolism. If you are struggling to lose weight and are
