The Joyce Chen Stainless 3 Quart Chinese Tea Kettle is the best designed Kettle I’ve found. It is good sized and yet light weight. The handle is egronomic for the wrist and it is elevated enough to remain cool. The tea spout is small enough to pour gently. The spout cap vibrates to let you know the kettle is boiling. The lid is large enough so that it fills easily and cleans easily. Clearly, no other tea kettle is so well designed. I smile whenever I use it and have taken all my other kettles to the thriftshop.

I decided to take a chance on this tea kettle because I have the ceramic 2 qt tea kettle and love it. I wanted a tea pot with a larger capacity and this one works beautifully. It is sturdy on the stove grates, has a very comfortable handle (for lifting and pouring), and doesn’t bubble out the spout during the boil. I also like that it does not whistle — such a rude noise first thing in the morning.

This tea pot is just what I wanted. Not too big and no whistle.

Had used the heavier copper bottom whistler’s in the past and when

this tea pot came I thought it was too light and wouldn’t stand up,

but it has been a really good choice. Heats quickly and pours

beautifully. The style is a plus also.

The Joyce Chen tea kettle is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a kettle with straight sides and a tall spout that wouldn’t spew boiling water all over the stovetop. I needed a 3 quart capacity, and I did NOT want a whistle. This kettle is perfect for light duty use to heat water for beverages. The handle is high enough and stays cool so I don’t have to use a pot holder to pour. It is stainless steel so it looks nice even after a month on our often-used stove. It is not a heavy gauge kettle but that’s ok since we don’t use it for extended periods. I would recommend a heavier gauge kettle if you plan to use it a great deal.
